Tax Claim Bureau Office Information:

Polly Cardone, Director of the Blair County Tax Claim Bureau, announced the following new procedures and practices for the office:

 Payments can be made by the following:

  • Cash

  • Money Orders

  • Certified Checks

  • Personal Checks

>> No Personal Checks will be accepted 60 days prior to any upcoming tax sale if you are part of that sale <<

 

Payments can be mailed to the address listed below; we ask that you put your District/Control number on your check or money order. If you would like a receipt you will need to send a self-addressed stamped envelope.

  • As of April 1, 2010 - No personal checks will be accepted on 2008 & prior delinquent real estate taxes. Only cash, money orders and certified checks will be accepted.
     
  • If you have 2009 delinquent real estate taxes only, you may use a personal check for payment until April 1, 2011.
     
  • The office will continue to accept one-time installment payment plans for qualified delinquent taxpayers.

    Additional information concerning delinquent taxes can be obtained by calling the Bureau at (814) 317-2361 or by accessing the Blair County web site. Questions concerning your current year taxes should be directed to your local tax collector whose contact information can be accessed via the above link.

The office will continue to accept installment payment plans for qualified delinquent taxpayers.
